April 22, 2025 – As a member of the 1% for the Planet program, we are proud to contribute, this year again, at least one percent of our annual revenue to NPOs protecting the environment. To assign the pledged funds, we decided to focus on 7 key areas, which we believe are in need of strategic investment: Environmental Awareness, Consumer Behavior Shift, Environmental Research, Solution Research & Development, Solution Awareness, Cleaning and Recovery and Support of underrepresented and less privileged.
This year, we are have donated funds and supported the outstanding actions of the following organizations:
1. Environmental Research: Fondation Tara Océan
Foundation Tara Océan is the first foundation in France to be recognised of public interest dedicated to the ocean. We have decided to contribute to the Foundation to support the unique vehicle it provides scientists, to conduct crucial research, to learn more about our oceans, our environment, and unveil mechanisms that could mitigate the negative impact of human activity on our environment.
2. Cleaning and Recovery: Leaving Seas Foundation, More Trees
Livingseas Foundation is a marine conservation organisation based in Bali, Indonesia, which aims at preserving and rebuilding coastal and marine ecosystems by involving local communities to ensure a long-term and sustainable impact.
We believe coral preservation is critical to marine life, and its gravely endangered status is a threat to all life on earth. That’s why we decided to support the Livingseas Foundation to contribute to rebuilding healthy reefs in Indonesia.
Still on Cleaning and recovery, but rather on Life on Land (SDG 15;), we also continued to support More Trees, a Japanese forest conservation NPO, established in 2007 and led by Ryuichi Sakamoto, a famous Japanese musician. More Trees’ extremely result-focused reforestation actions, in Japan and abroad, are priceless, and we’re proud to support them again this year.
3. Environmental Awareness: Ocean Generation
We were very impressed with Ocean Generation’s reach and meaningful actions to increase awareness of ocean issues, threats, with the young generations, in order to change Consumer behavior on a large scale, and possibly to inspire more attendees into playing an active role in ocean protection and/or climate change mitigation. Ocean Generation is a UK NPO, endorsed by UNESCO. Like ourselves, Ocean Generation is also extremely data-driven and result-focused, and they were prompt to let us know exactly what our actions corresponded to our contribution.
4. Support of underrepresented and less privileged
Mirai no Mori is a Japanese not-for-profit organization that creates life-changing outdoor programs for abused, neglected, and orphaned youths in Japan, supporting their growth into happy and successful young adults. We believe in empathy, and we believe that, once given a chance, children that had a bumpy start may, at least as well as everyone else, be able to change our world for the better.
